The Eastern Pennsylvania Conference of The United Methodist Church
has a new Vision Statement and Mission Statement
that will be presented to our Annual Conference on June 15, 2017.

Our Bishop, Peggy Johnson, has led the Eastern PA Annual Conference to a vision mission statement to be presented at the Conference Session on June 15: “United to Christ, Committed to Transformation.” In a letter recently posted in the Conference e-news and on the website, Bishop Johnson—along with The Rev. Dr. Christopher J. Kurien, Director of Connectional Ministries, and The Rev. Robert Wilt, Chairperson of the Connectional Table—invites us to reflect on this Vision and Mission Statement:

United in Christ, Committed to Transformation

Creating Disciples, Celebrating Diversity,

Connecting Communities and Committing to Love and Justice

With the help of consultant the Rev. Glenn Catley and his wife Virginia, conference leadership engaged in “communal discernment, dialogue and decision-making” to define and state our core purpose and goals in “making disciples for the transformation of the world.”

These statements will help us “become a more dynamic, loving and just community of Christians who truly work together, united as disciples of Jesus Christ and committed to God’s transforming work in the world.”
